Amy Kliewer Derby and Lawrence Biolit 13 Feb. 2014 Sec 1: What is Cancer The second leading cause of death is cancer(â€Å"Cancer:Questions†). Unfortunately one in three people will get cancer in their lives(â€Å"Cancer:Questions†). Cancer is uncontrolled cell division, and can start in any part of the body(â€Å"Cancer:Questions†). This is the reason for all 200 different types of cancers that plague today's society More than 550,000 people will die of cancer(â€Å"Cancer:Questions†). Metastasis, is the spread of a cancer to other parts of the body and tumors are abnormal masses of tissue, there are two types of tumors(â€Å"What Is†). Unlike cancerous tumors, Benign tumors are noncancerous (â€Å"What Is†). Benign tumors can form anywhere on the body but, they can not spread to other parts of the body(â€Å"Cancer:Questions†). As oppose to Benign tumors, Malignant tumors are cancerous and they can spread to different part of the bodys, hurting nearby tissues and organs(â€Å"Cancer:Questions†).
